I get 'This link is only available to internal users' when trying to access a SharePoint link sent to me
Issue
When clicking on a link referencing a SharePoint document, you get the following message:
Even though you (as a guest) have access to that location.
Reason
This is due to the wrong type of shared link created.
The sharing permission is using the People in University of California Education Abroad Program, and not the Only people with existing access.
Resolution
The creator of the link will need to create a new share link, making sure to select Only people with existing access, otherwise, guest users will be unable to access the document, even if they are invited members of the Teams/SharePoint site.
External users are not part of the University of California Education Abroad Program tenant, thus not considered as an internal user by Microsoft.
